Edmond V. Bayer, DVM Resident of El Cerrito Mar. 22, 1925- Dec. 4, 2017 Edmond Victor Bayer passed away peacefully in Danville on Monday surrounded by his family. He was a kind, loving man with a generous heart and will be missed dearly by all who loved him. Edmond was born in Santa Rosa, CA to parents Charles and Josephine. He was the youngest of four children and is preceded in death by his brother Eugene (Wanda) and his sisters Olga McDonough (Martin) and Irene Bayer. Edmond grew up in Santa Rosa and lived on his family farm until he attended UC Berkeley where he earned a degree in Zoology and Chemistry in 1948. He earned his DVM at UC Davis in 1953 and an MPVH at UCD in 1969. In 1968 he married the love of his life Lillian and had three children. He moved with his family to El Cerrito were he remained the rest of his life. He worked at the State Health Department and retired as the chief public health veterinarian for the state of California. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lillian and his three adoring children, Dana, Edmond (Kelley) and Andrea (Chris), his beloved grandchildren Ryan, Kaitlyn, Alexandra Lucas, and step granddaughter Hannah. Dear brother in law to the late Edward (Shirley) Crosetti and Joseph (Judy) Crosetti and many loving nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews. Friends and Family are invited to a viewing on December 13 at Holy Angels Mortuary/St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo from 9:30-11:00 AM followed by a funeral mass the same day at St. Jerome Catholic Church in El Cerrito at 11:30 AM. Uncle Ed, I will miss you terribly. You were so selfless, and kind. A wonderful person and husband and father. I remember the conversations of guidance and your firm advise on the value of education. We love you Uncle Ed,until we meet again.
