Barbara Ann Barr Mankey, 53, went to her eternal home Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born September 2, 1964, a daughter of the late Ralph R. and Barbara S. Barr of Washington.
Mrs. Mankey was a 1982 graduate of Washington High School and attended Median School in Pittsburgh.
In 1992, she married Larry Mankey of Prosperity, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are a daughter, Amber Mankey and granddaughter, Ava; a son, Jacob Mankey (fiancée Loren); three brothers, Jack (Kim), Daniel (Lisa) and Jeffery (Roberta) Barr; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mankey will be greatly missed by so many. She was always willing to help others. She gave much of her time to Benton Area Wrestling Club, where she spent many years as club president. She enjoyed painting and crafts, some of which she spent time selling at Retherford's Farm Market in Benton.
For a brief time, she owned and managed her business, Barbie's Bark'in Biscuits. While living in Washington, she was employed at Country Meadows. She was also a longtime employee of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, until 2012.
The family has decided to hold two services. There will be a celebration of life service Friday evening, December 22, in Benton, as well as a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 30, in Broad Street Baptist Church, Washington.

Barb was a beautiful person, and a long time friend, one of those true friends, that you don't see very much, but you know they are still there, I will miss her very much, but she will remain in my heart forever.

Barbara will be missed. She leaves memories that bring smiles to the heart of those who know her best. Although painful now, we will keep in mind God's assured promises to get through tomorrow.
