Susan L. Coon GERMANTOWN- Susan L. Coon, 73, of Germantown, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Born on Nov. 16, 1944, in Bronx, N.Y.; she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Beatrice (McGee) Pearl. Susan married Howard Coon in 1986 at St. John’s Reformed Church in Red Hook, N.Y. Howard survives at home. For many years, Susan worked as a Sales Representative with TransWestern Publishing, based out of Albany, N.Y. She was an Electrolux vacuum sales person and worked in a number of daycare facilities- including the YWCA in Kingston, N.Y. Susan took great pride and joy in “make a difference day” – which is a day on October that she would go out and donate her time and resources to various organizations. In addition to her husband of 31 years, she is survived by her daughter, Rene (Paul) Roosa of Valatie, N.Y.; her son, Roger Kight of W. Hurley, N.Y.; her stepdaughters, Dru (Joe) Ary of Hillsdale, N.Y., and Sue Jacobson of Wappinger’s Falls, N.Y.; her stepson, Michael (Merilee) Coon of Red Hook, N.Y.; seven loving grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Ursula Nazar of New Jersey, and Melinda Holzbaur of Pennsylvania; along with extended family and friends. Susan was predeceased by a sister, Judi Lescher. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Burnett & White Funeral Homes, Red Hook, N.Y. Burial will be at St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook. Memorial donations may be made in Susan’s memory to the Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, N.Y., 12601, or to MADD- Mothers Against Drunk Driving at www.madd.org.
