Joyce Wallace, 78, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2018 in Abilene.
Visitation will be 6:00PMto 8:00PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Oldham Lane Church of Christ in Abilene with the Chris McCurley of Oldham Lane Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Joyce was born in El Paso, TX to Vena and Thomas W. Wright, on April 22, 1939. She went to school in El Paso, TX. She graduated from Camelback High School in Phoenix, AZ and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. She married Tommy J. Wallace on April 21, 1962 in Lubbock, TX. She was a homemaker and an artist. She was involved in her church and many civic clubs throughout her lifetime.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy J. Wallace, her parents Thomas W. Wright and Vena Warwick and stepfather, Ivan A. Warwick.
Joyce is survived by her children Shannon Maxfeldt, and husband Mark of San Antonio, grandson, Caleb Clardy, granddaughter Olivia Clardy Tyler, Makenzi Maxfeldt; Sheli Black of Lubbock, TX and grandsons Patrick Black and Travis Black; Sheryl Wallace of Abilene, and granddaughters Audrey Evans and Kate Evans; and Sam Wallace and wife Sharla Wallace of Abilene, granddaughter Te'a Wallace and two step-granddaughters Sara McCullough and Katie McGavock; her sister, Martha Joann Fowler; as well as four great-grandchildren Keaton Clardy, Eva Lynn Tyler, Johnna Lee Tyler, and Alice McCullough; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Maxfeldt, Eric Hererra, Larry Bell, Jake Sledge, Blake Dozier, and Chad Dozier.
Memorials may be given to Christian Homes and Family Services or The Alzheimer's Association.
