William Raymond Apple
Indianapolis - William Raymond Apple, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 29th, 2017 in Victorville, California, after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 29, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William Raymond Apple and Dora Elizabeth Perkins Apple. Bill graduated from George Washington High School in 1965 - he won Coach Bob Springer's coveted Tackling Trophy in 1964 and lost the trophy by one tackle in 1963. Bill was an Electronics Technician with the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, and served on surveillance ships. He was awarded the National Defense, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign Medals. After the Navy, he returned to Indiana and had a 30 year career in sales and was the owner of the House of Vacuums and Discount Vacuums. In 2007, Bill relocated to California where he attended Victor Valley College and became a certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide. Bill retired in 2014. Bill was laid to rest with military honors, on July 13, 2017, at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.

I recall Billie Apple & I being in the Phys. Ed class at Washington H.S. as freshmen in 1962. Our teacher was Jerry Oliver , a teacher that I respected. RIP Billie.
