Camille B. Evans, 89, of Plains Twp., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Nash County Hospital, Rocky Mount, N.C., while visiting family.
She was born in France, the daughter of the late Alfred and Octavie Lea Provin.
As a 17-year-old French war bride, she came to the United States in 1946 after marrying John Evans, an Army veteran of World War II.
She has been a life resident of Plains Twp. Her husband, John, preceded her in death in January 2004.
As for her life, Camille was a devout Catholic, faithful and loving wife, dedicated and caring mother and a good friend to all those who knew her.
Surviving are her sons, John, Garner, N.C.; Daniel, Middlesex, N.C.; James, Plains Twp.; and Michael, Mountain Top; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, with the Rev. John C. Lambert, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Plains Twp.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
