Thelma G. (Etsell) Long, of Hingham, passed away on February 2, 2018 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late George W. Long, and loving mother of Ruth E. Murphy (Richard) and adored grandmother of Dr. Lauren E. Murphy (Scott Pullen), also of Hingham. Daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Rolls) Etsell. Predeceased by her five sisters, Marion Baier, Evelyn Cahill, Elsie Christenson, Martha Hall, and Edna MacDonald; and her brother, William Etsell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 172 Main Street, Hingham, MA on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Private interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Thelmas name may be made to Harbor House Resident Activities Fund, 11 Condito Road, Hingham, MA 02043, The Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, MA 02021, or a charity of ones choice.
