Jim's was an outdoor enthusiast, with a passion for fishing, especially in Northern Canada, on the Chippewa Flowage, Wisconsin, Lake Michigan, the Florida Keys, and the Gulf of Mexico. His family would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice, especially Natalie and Dr. John Meyers for their kind care and understanding of Jim's unique sense of humor; special friend and caregiver, Annie Anthony for the love, care and support she not only showed Jim, but also to his family; and close friends, Craig, Don, Norm, and Yvonne, who were there at a moment's notice. The family also thanks the team of caring and compassionate women who took care of Jim, especially the last week of his life: Shelese, Sarah, and Cathy.
In lieu of a traditional funeral, his family invites friends to a celebration of Jim's life from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 24th, at Stone Eagle Tavern, 6445 E. State Street, Rockford. Condolences to the family.
Jim had sense of humor that not many got, and he was a delight to know. Sometimes a bit gruff, but always with a smile. I enjoyed working with him on transactions. You knew where you stood with him, for sure!
RIP.

I worked for Jim as my first job upon graduating from college. He taught me a great deal about business and the world in general, and I have thought of him often over the last twenty years. I feel extremely fortunate to have caught up with him last fall, not knowing that it would be the last time that I would see him. He was a great mentor and a great person, and he will be missed. My condolences to family and friends.

To say that Jim was a unique person, would be a vast understatement. There is not enough space here to start with any Jim Dixon stories, so I will cherish my personal memories of Jim's friendship and loyalty to friends and Family.
My sincere condolences to Jim's Family and may he RIP.
