Sharon Honke Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sharon announces her passing at the age of 78 years. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Larry, in 2018.

She will be dearly missed by the light of her life, her daughter Sherry (Will) of Cold Lake, AB, grandchildren Kyle (Megan) of Cold Lake, AB, Jenell (Max) of Montreal, QC, Walter and Thomas of Cold Lake, AB, great grandchildren Kaleb, Lexi & Kali of Cold Lake, AB, sisters Margo Marshall, Marlene (Morris) Hounsell, Linda Jordan, Doreen (Rick) Willness, and brother Dave (Joan) Falloon, In-laws Dale (Jan) Honke, Clint (Ann) Honke, Wade (Heather) Honke and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sharon was also predeceased by her grandson Logan; parents George and Ella Falloon, Father and Mother in-law Hank and Bea Honke, brothers in-law Wally Marshall and Brad Honke, and niece Corinna Willness.

Sharon was born in Brandon, MB, the third of six children to George and Ella Falloon, a family full of love and laughter. She lived on the farm at Forrest, MB, until moving to Smeaton, SK at age 12. After high school she trained to become an LPN in Saskatoon. She started work in Winnipeg, where she met Larry. They moved to Prince Albert where she worked for 30 years at the Holy Family & Victoria Hospitals on Maternity Ward. She made many lasting friendships throughout the years. Upon retiring they moved to Cold Lake to be closer to Sherry and the grandkids. After Larry's passing, Sharon moved to Choiceland, a community that welcomed her, to be near her sisters. She treasured time spent with family, especially with Sherry and Will, and her grand and great grandkids. Our families will treasure the memories of the time we spent with her. In her last years, when invited to participate in other activities you'd often hear her say "I won't be doin' that-I'll be with my sisters playing aggravation or games!" Sharon's favorite pastimes were watching sports,(a big fan of the Roughriders, Blue Jays, Oilers and curling), award and game shows and keeping in touch with family and friends through social media. Sharon always had an entertaining story to tell. She remained upbeat and cheerful through all the adversity she faced.

Thanks to all her friends who supported her. Especially the ones she mentioned daily: Lionel & Doreen, Rick, Angela, the Home Care providers: Roxanne, Kayle & Allison, The Pain Management Team at the Cancer Clinic, Dr de Villiers.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Rose Garden Hospice, Prince Albert.

Sherry,

Your Mom remains a woman who influenced even pioneered my youthful understanding of how feeling safe and welcomed should present itself.

Albeit that life lesson is mingled with 'safely' driving Mach 2. If you ever come to West Coast my home is yours ... Galactic love always.
