My family sends their love and prayerful support to the Caruso family. I will always remember the smile on his face, sparkle in his eye and the beautiful sound that came from his heart to my ears, even as a hum.

My deepest condolences to the family. I look forward to the time when death will be no more and we will not have to experience the pain of loosing a loved one. Until then though, I know you will find much joy in remembering the many pleasant memories and kind spirit of Charles Anthony.

Sincere condolences from the Josephine Colletti Radosti family. Josephine was the great aunt of Charles. Josephine married Pascal Joseph Radosti in 1900 in the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square, New Orleans. They had four children: Lula, Pete, Joe, and Rose. Charles sang at the wedding of Joe's son Raymond.
I was married to Gerard John Radosti, the son of Joe and grandson of Josephine. Jerry passed in 2007.
What a lovely life Charles had; he and his beautiful voice touched many.
Again, sincere condolences.

i dont remember him playing for the mets but to combine an opera career with a baseball career is very impressive. id never cared for opera very much until a friend took me to the met many years ago. we met him after the performance and i mistakenly referred to him as "mr. charles." he got indignant snd kicked me in the shin but apoligized profusely and took us out for pizza. a true gentleman. a tad touchy but a gentleman none the less.

My warm heart and deep love to the family and close friends of such a hard-working, patient, upbuilding and kind-hearted man. Charles's pleasant and happy spirit will always be fondly thought of and dearly missed by us until the very day that God resurrects him to perfect human health where he will live on a paradise forever

I, too, would have loved to have heard him sing operas. My deepest sympathies to his family. May the thought at Isaiah 57:15 bring you some comfort. It says, "For this is what the High and Lofty One, who is residing forever and whose name is holy, has said: "In the height and in the holy place is where I reside, also with the one crushed and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly ones and to revive the heart of the ones being crushed."
Sincerely,
J Reichert

Mr. Anthony was not in the cast of the first Metropolitan performance I saw ("Parsifal" at age 6, of all things), but he was in many subsequent broadcasts and performances in my memory. We will all miss him and keep him in our memories and prayers.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the Anthony Family in their time of grief. At times like these, 'God' can give us "power beyond what is normal," so we can keep going from one day to the next." (2 Cor. 4: 7)

Nearly 60 years and nearly 3,000 performances with the same company.
I do not believe I can have memories of The Met without thinking of Mr. Anthony, they are intertwined. And I am thankful for them!
