Lebanon, NH - Ruth was born on January 25, 1914 in Wellesley Hills, MA to Harold Arthur Everett and Alice deSilva Everett. She graduated from State College (PA) High School in 1931. She received her BA from Penn State University in 1935, and MA in 1937, majoring in biochemistry. College activities included Chapel Choir, Thespians, Girls’ Glee Club, and Rifle Club. She worked as a lab technician at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after graduation.

Having met in a vitamins class, she married Roland A. Morck in 1939 after he completed his doctorate. They raised their four children in Verona and Glen Rock, NJ and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in 2006 after they had moved to Harvest Hill in Lebanon, NH.

Ruth was a great conversationalist and related well to young and old alike. She was endlessly curious about others. She was the quintessential volunteer, always busy with church, PTA, Girl Scouts, and any activity of her children. Her greatest joy was in helping others, whether taking a meal to someone, caring for children or visiting shut-ins. Ruth’s scientific training and her innate curiosity made her a lifelong learner, and she loved sharing her knowledge. Her special interest was nature, particularly birds, and she knew many of them by their song. She loved to watch them at her bird feeders at home or at her cottage on Grenadier Island in the St. Lawrence River, where she went every year since she was 5 years old. She had an extensive collection of birds’ nests. She also loved travel and archaeology.
Ruth was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and P.E.O. Her beautiful soprano voice was appreciated by choirs at Verona Presbyterian Church and Glen Rock Community Church. In recent years she belonged to the West Lebanon (NH) Congregational Church.

Ruth is survived by her daughters Rolaine Grandey and Molly Bonhag and her sons Tim Morck (and wife Anna) and Tom Morck (and wife Deb), 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
