Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, bank teller, florist and crafter.
She met her first love, Don Troutman, in 1952 and married shortly afterwards. Their family blossomed over the next eight years with four children. Helen loved being a wife and mother. Caring for her children, cooking, cleaning, planning her children’s birthday parties, sewing on Cub Scout and Boy Scout patches, playing with her daughters; simply living the life of her dreams.
Sadly, in 1969, Helen lost her husband. She and her children moved from Canada to North Highlands, California. This is where Helen started working as a bank teller.
In time she started dating one of her regular customers, Robert Hutchison. They married in 1974. From there they moved to a home, which they built in Loomis, California. Soon afterwards Helen started working in a field that was a natural for her, a florist. She was so happy working with the beautiful flowers. Her creations were magnificent! There was NO object, including rocks, ribbons, antlers, jars, baskets, pine cones, leaves, weeds, cattails, etc., that she couldn’t create a beautiful piece of art!
Helen and Robert moved to Newcastle, California and then to another home, which they also built, in Colfax, California. Years later, when their health began to fail, they had to move to Auburn until her passing last week.
Helen is survived by her four children, Doug, Larry, Julie and Diana, two daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The viewing will take place at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, California, on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm. The Funeral will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 11600 Atwood Road, Auburn, California on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 12:00pm. Burial will directly follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California.
