Father Eric Burdett Yeoman III

A Life Well Spent
Father Eric Burdett Yeoman III, died at 9 p.m. on August 25, 2010, surrounded by those who knew and loved him best: His wife of 62 years, his two sons, daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren and close friends. His death was eased by the many months of illnesses that he fought desperately to live until this day. He prepared us lovingly for the end.
For 40 years, Father Eric's teachings, which included love as well as knowledge, left a mark on many who sought medical careers at Mount Diablo and Los Medonos Colleges. At Los Medonos, he designed the lab and wet room for teaching Anatomy and Physiology, his major academic subjects.
His other vocation (if one can separate them) was witnessing his deep religious convictions by teaching the Gospel and by his living example. He served as lay vicar at Saint Anne's in Red Bluff and Saint Mark's in Corning and as a priest at Church of the Resurrection in Pleasant Hill, Saint Marks in Clayton, Saint John's, Saint Anne's in Stockton, and Saint John the Baptist in Lodi.
One of his many charms was the ability to gently cry in sadness or happiness with others. This same ability allowed him to cry simply moved by the moment, by a piece of music or the written word.
A public requiem mass will be held at Saint John the Baptist Church of Lodi, 1055 S. Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi, CA. 95244 on September 18th at 2 p.m. The family will hold a private requiem mass at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco in October.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Saint John the Baptist, Lodi may be given his name.
