I first knew Sue through my folks when Jim managed the vegetable section at the Turnage Mkt. My dad owned the Turnage Liquor store and as a very young man I had the pleasure of knowing Jim and, later, Sue. After my dad died Sue and my mother remained good friends and both Sue and Jim were always spoken of with the utmost respect, friendship and admiration. When my mother died, Sue sent a most lovely card in remembrance and this gesture has not been forgotten. My sincere sympathy to "young" Jim and your family. Your folks were two of the nicest people I remember growing up in this community.

I first met Sue as a brand new teacher in 1973. My classroom was empty and I had no idea where to start. I called Sue and headed to the IMC where she was for many years a wonderful help, mentor and source of support and encouragment. We reconnected a little over a year ago out at Sycamore Lane Kennel where she brought Emile. He would often go out there to be groomed and I would meet her out there and spend the afternoon visiting until he was finished and happily back in her arms. He has been living out there and I stop to see him. Alicia is a wonderful, loving stepmom who is giving him incredible care. Rightfully spoiled and as happy as he can be without his beloved Mom, he will happily live out his days under their loving care.
Sue was a lovely lady who added her own special sparkle to the world and will be missed by all of us whose lives she touche.

We first knew Sue as our son's teacher, and then in later years when she was in charge of the IMC. She was a dedicated teacher and a great manager of IMC. Our sympathies to her family. Fern and Wendell Davis

I have such warm memories of Sue. We came to Lodi in the 1960's, new to Lodi and teaching here. Sue was a wonderful support and mentor. She always extended herself to be helpful when she was in charge of the IMC.
We also knew her socially through Berniece Vaughan. Sue and Berniece were seasoned travelers and often shared their wisdom and experiences with us. I knew Sue to be an
exceptionally kind and generous person. She will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her over the years.

Mrs Ishida was my most favorite teacher. I had her in 6th grade and when I had my back operation, in 7th grade, she brought me a TV to use at the hospital. I was in the hospital when JFK was killed and had the only TV so I had a very popular room. I truly have wonderful memories of this lovely lady.

My condolences to your Family. Sue (Mrs. Ishida, as I will always remember her) had a big influence on my life. She was my teacher for 3rd, 6th and Science teacher for 7th grade at Nedham. I have long appreciated how she encouraged my natural curiosity which led to my BS degree from UC Davis and careers in Winemaking and Landscaping. But now as I think back on it she also did a great deal to educate me with a multicultural exposure. I know she tought us to count to 10 in Japanese and I believe we learned some Japanese songs also. I remember being in trouble with her a lot because I was what we now would call call an ADD kid. She did a lot to get me socialized and I will always be thankful for that.
My big regret is that I never got around to looking her up to thank her, but she will always be fondly remembered.
