Marian Leva Johnson

1922 - 2010

Marian Leva Johnson, 88, passed away early Sunday morning, September 26, 2010, at Vienna Nursing Center. Marian was born and raised in San Francisco. She was born on June 5, 1922. She grew up on Haight Street. She attended the University of California, Berkeley where she received her BA degree and her teaching credential. Marian soon moved to Lodi and taught for many years at Lodi High School. She taught in the field of Biology. In 1952, Marian married William Johnson, another teacher. They had two children, Julie Estridge, past librarian at Roseville High School, and Ross, retired Dentist in Lodi. Marian enjoyed teaching, the symphony, classical music, and the theater in San Francisco. Marian is survived by her husband, William; son, Ross; Julie's husband, Paul Estridge; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Spencer; Ross' wife, Maria; and her two daughters, Erin and Brittany; sister-in-law, Frances Leva of Seattle; niece, Janine Tarte of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews on the Johnson side of the family. Marian was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie; and brothers, Francis and Joseph Leva. Marian was a loving mother and wife. She will be missed greatly. There will be no services.
