Karen Hannemann Obituary

Karen "Junie" Hannemann, age 69, of Lockeford, CA, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Lodi Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  At the age of two weeks her family moved to San Francisco.  Then later moved to the San Andreas area.  She attended grade school in Valley Springs and later moved to Stockton where she attended and graduated from Stagg High School,  attended Delta College and University of the Pacific. 
She met her husband, Leonard Hannemann, in 1985.  Karen was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi where she was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir.  Karen and Leonard moved to Hawaii and lived there for 13 years and was on a traveling competitive Hula team.  The team traveled to Seoul Korea, Hong Kong, and Macau.  She worked in the banking industry for many years.  Karen and Leonard retired and moved back to the mainland in 2003 where they did extensive travel throughout US. 
She is survived by her husband; Leonard Hannemann, of Lockeford, CA.; daughter, Andra Zastrow, of Stockton, CA; brother Phillip Engleman, of Orangevale, CA; sister Natalie Barker of Arizona; sister Kathy Engleman of San Andreas; sister Sharon Horton of Tulsa OK; step-son Jesse Hannemann of Tuscon, AZ; step-son Clifford Hannemann of Temecula, CA; step-daughter's Laura Morton and DeeAnn Robinson, and step-son John Carter, all of Clovis, CA; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Lee Stallings of Apache OK; step-mother Gladys Stallings of Apache OK; biological mother Pearlie Faye Cronan of Mokelumne Hill, CA. 
A celebration of life service will be held at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1540 W. Lodi Ave., Lodi CA 95240 on October 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM.  Interment is private.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Karen's name to the American Lung Association National Headquarters, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800. Washington, DC 20004  (202) 785-3355.  Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Rd., Manteca, CA.

Karen was such a special lady. We will always remember her warm smile and loving hugs. We have great memories of the church campouts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Leonard, and the entire family.

I have such wonderful memories of Karen. Love her awesome smile. We had fun singing together in choir and did so many activities together at church including the church campouts and FED dinners. What a sweetheart she was and she will be missed so much! Love her friend Debbie Aman
