Hilda Mettler Obituary

Hilda L. Mettler, 95, of Lodi passed away early Wednesday, December 1, 2010. She was born in Lodi on December 25, 1914 and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1932.
She married Marvin Mettler in 1934 who preceded her in death in 2003. She was a lifelong active member of Zion Reformed Church and a 4-H leader in earlier years.
She was a member of the Lodi Trailer Club and loved traveling with her husband in their RV and the many trips to Hawaii. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren playing sports and was an avid 49er and Giants fan.
In addition to her husband she is also preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Katherina Schmidt. Brothers, Helmuth, Ted and Edward Schmidt. Sisters, Emma Kirschenman and Tillie Simpson.
Survived by Son, Curt (Gavae) Mettler and Daughter, Kathy Haynie.
Grandchildren, Keith (Sherie) Mettler, Dean Mettler, Karen (Rod) Edwards, Sean Haynie and Chris (Sharette) Haynie. Five Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:00am at the Lodi Memorial Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at Zion Reformed Church with Pastor Matt Duerr officiating.
There will be no visitation and the Donahue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Zion Reformed Church Memorial Fund, 105 South Ham Lane, Lodi, CA 95242 or to the charity of the donors choice.
