To Peg and all the family,
We just learned of Jim's passing yesterday, and we cannot tell you how heavy our hearts are. The first time my family met Jim we knew there was something so special about him, he had been through so much, he had endured so much, yet there was a serenity about him that pulled you in, let you know that everything in life was ok. My fondest memory was a few years ago, he was in Arizona to visit his kids, we had all been invited to Jim and Laura's for dinner and after music was turned on, some Frank Sinatra, we all started singing and dancing, and Jim danced with my granddaughter who was about 5 years old. She has not forgotten either. He was more full of life that anyone I have ever met. I would like to think he and my husband Gene are once again sharing conversation and some laughs. We will smile when we think of Jim, and we know that we were blessed to have had him in our lives.

Dear Kulla family,

Jim was at one time my father-in-law, and remained my very dear friend. Never in my life had I ever known anyone so smart, courageous, warm and kind. I considered him family from the day we first met and will always think of him fondly as my "Pops". Jim was in constant pain, yet his concern was always for others, a rarity in this day and age. What a remarkable man. My heart is so heavy as I write this. I just want you all to know how much he is loved, and how many lives he affected positively. We spoke soon after my own father passed away last year. He told me my Dad was a man to be honored and emaulated..well so are you Jim, so are you.

Rest well my friend, I will miss you and love you 'til we meet again.

Peg, Ray, Don, John, Mary, Anne, and all of your spouses and children, How sorry I am for your loss and that I was unable to be there with you all to celebrate the life of our dear Jim. Jim was the first person I met when my family moved to Ivy Hill and a friendship of over 40 years began. The cherished memories I have of those days do help to ease the pain. Let's hope that the sorrow we feel today can give way to comfort in knowing that he is resting in the arms of the angels and reunited with his dad. Know that I am thinking of you all and will miss my dear friend. With loving thoughts,

Michele Kielbasa
