Theresa H. Demers lived in Chelmsford for five decades; 82 CHELMSFORD Theresa H. (Walsh) Demers, 82, of Chelmsford, MA, died Wed., April 23, 2008 at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA, after a brief illness. She was married to Joseph C. Demers Sr.with whom she celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Feb. 27. Born in Lowell, on Dec. 1, 1925, the daughter of the late Owen and Hannah (McGettigan) Walsh. She graduated from Sacred Heart School, and Lowell High School with the class of 1943. Theresa attended Burdett Secretarial School in Boston. A resident of Chelmsford for over 57 years, she worked as a Tax Examiner for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover from 1966 until 1985. She later worked at the FAA in Nashua until retiring in 1987. In her early years, she worked at the Veterans Administration in Boston, Fort Devens in Ayer, and Fletcher's Quarry in Chelmsford. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, and member of the Seton Guild. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons and two daughters in-law, Mark and Linda (Paynter) Demers of Nashua, NH, Michael and Janet (Hill) Demers of Laconia, NH, and Joseph C. Demers Jr. of Coasta Mesa, CA; three daughters and two sons in-law, Moira Gaudet of Chelmsford, MA, Alicia and Stephen Evans of Nashua, NH, Tara and Anthony Dulac of Nashua, NH; two brother in-laws, John Ward of FL, and Paul Sullivan of Chelmsford, MA; 10 loving grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Demers who died in 1968, her granddaughter, Kristen Demers who died in 2006; her siblings, Eugene Walsh, Francis Walsh, Elizabeth Ward, and Mary Sullivan.
