Joseph H. Plourde

Joseph H. Plourde longtime Tewksbury resident, WWII vet; 83 TEWKSBURY Joseph Hubert Plourde, age 83, a Tewksbury resident for 52 years, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Wilmington Health Care Center. He was the husband of Doris L. (Cormier) Plourde, with whom he celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on October 1, 2007. Born in Lynn on August 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Domino D. and Alice (Danielson) Plourde. Mr. Plourde was raised in Lynn, attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. In 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during World War II with the 86th Depot Repair Squadron. He was awarded several decorations for his military service including the World War II Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a tester by the General Electric Company of Lynn, where he worked for over 40 years. Mr. Plourde was a communicant of Saint Dorothy's Parish of Wilmington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kathy L. Plourde of Coral Springs, FL; two sons, Daniel H. Plourde of Tewksbury and Ronald H. Plourde of Montgomery, PA; one sister, Terese Crook of Kingston, MA; also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Plourde was the brother of the late Marguerite Thylstrup, Alyette St. Cyr, Yvette Michaud, Ann Barbano, Rita Quinn, Loretta MacIntyre, Dorothy Plourde, Louis and Gerald Plourde. PLOURDE Joseph H. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Dorothy's Church, Main St., Rte. 38, Wilmington.
