Angelo LiPomi Obituary

Angelo Anthony LiPomi of Dracut, Army vet, WWII; 90 DRACUT Mr. Angelo "Babe" LiPomi, of Dracut, MA, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at his home. He was married to the late Dorothy (Simard) LiPomi who passed away in January of 2002. Born in Fitchburg, MA on July 12, 1917, the son of the late Vincenzo and Nunzia (Pucci) LiPomi. He attended the Lowell Public Schools. He served as a Sargent with the U.S. Army during World War II. He received many decorations and citations while enlisted in the Army the Bronze Star Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, and the Middle Eastern and American Theatre Campaign Ribbons. He was employed with the Boston Navy Yard until his retirement in 1969. He is survived by his stepson, Francis Simard of North Chelmsford, MA; his two stepdaughters and one stepson-in-law, Connie Cliff of North Chelmsford, MA, and Claudette and Gerry Pond of Lyman, SC; two nieces, Mary Ann Arabian of Reading, MA and Nancy and Ben Drainville of Lowell, MA; one nephew, Vincent LiPomi of Plymouth, MA; a great-nephew, David Drainville and his fiancée, Judith Fleming of Woburn, MA, a great-niece and her husband, Debbie and John Hovey of Nashua, NH; three step-granddaughters and their husbands, Patty and John Feehan of Dracut, Donna and John Parker of Pepperell, Connie and John Cross of Pepperell, MA; one great-grandniece, Lindsey Hovey; one great-grandnephew, Jacob Hovey, both of Nashua, NH; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the stepfather of the late Robert and Marcel Simard, and the brother of the late Arasimo LiPomi, and the late Sarah Arabian. LiPOMI Per his request, his private funeral was held on Friday June 20, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. in the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.
