Lawrence Giles Obituary

Lawrence Peter Giles of Nashua, NH; 65 Nashua, NH Lawrence Peter Giles, 65, of Nashua, formerly of Pepperell, passed away July 7 at the Community Hospice House in Nashua, New Hampshire. Larry was born in Woburn, in 1942, the son of the late Lawrence William Giles. He graduated from Woburn High School and joined the Army in 1967. He served as a counterintelligence officer and spent two terms in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge, Larry established various entrepreneurial businesses, including real estate development and self storage. He was a past president of the Lions in Pepperell. He became involved with girls basketball in 1990 and spent over ten years coaching junior varsity, varsity and junior Olympic AAU girls basketball teams. He provided a strong, supportive image to many young women as they developed their athletic and leadership skills. He is survived by: his wife, Christina, his two children, Bridgitt Giles of Pepperell, Lawrence W. Giles of Hampton, NH, two grandchildren, Angel Andino and Taylor Giles; two step children, Amy Page of Nashua, NH and Brett Wiggins of Raleigh, NC, three step grandchildren, Elli and Cade Wiggins and Evelyn Page; his mother, Jeannette Hogan Giles of Westford, three sisters, Roberta Strong of Winchester, MA, Doreen Balestrieri of Woburn, and Susan Russo; and two brothers, Richard Giles, Westford, and David Giles, North Carolina; and his best friends for over 50 years, Bill and Kathy Lewis. GILES A Memorial Celebration Luncheon will be held at the Alpine Grove, Skylight Room, 19 S. Depot Road, Hollis, NH on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. All friends are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made to the: Nashua Home Health and Hospice, 22 Prospect Street, Nashua, NH 03064 or a charity of your choice.
