John F. Liakakos of Nashua, Lowell Shoe Co. retiree; 90 NASHUA, NH John F. Liakakos, 90, of Nashua, NH, passed away, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, after a period of declining health at the Courville at Nashua, NH. Born in Gythio, Greece, on Sept. 17, 1917, son of the late Fotios and Kanelly (Pavlakou) Liakakos. John moved from Greece to Lowell, MA, as a child with his family. In 1966, he moved with his wife and children to Nashua, NH. John worked for many years at the Lowell Shoe Company before his retirement. John was predeceased by his wife, Stella (Vourlitis) Liakakos in 2003, as well as 2 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his two sons, Fotios Liakakos and his wife, Jenny of Nashua, NH, and George Liakakos and his wife, Irene of Nashua, NH; two brothers, Vasilios Liakakos and Timothy Liakakos; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. LIAKAKOS Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua, NH 03060. A Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church in Nashua. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery on Kinsley St., in Nashua, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to St. Philip Greek Orthodox Church, 500 W. Hollis St., Nashua, NH 03062. For directions or to sign an online guestbook go to www.mem.com
