Florindo 'Dale' F. Dal Pan
of Gilford, AVCO retiree; 81
GILFORD, NH Florindo "Dale" Francis Dal Pan, 81, of Gilford, NH died at home on Thursday, July 17, 2008.
Mr. Dal Pan was born in Passaic, NJ,
July 17, 1927 of Italian immigrant parents, Felice Angelo Dal Pan from the Po Valley and Maria DePeligrin-Dal Pan from the mountains in the Province of Bellano, Italy. He was raised in the Passaic-Clifton area of New Jersey.
Florindo, also known as "Dale", served in the U. S.
Naval Reserve at the end of World War II, completed high school while attending night school in Clifton, and graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.S. degree in Chemistry.
Upon completing college, Florindo took a job with Curtiss-Wright, Research Division in Centre County, PA. The plant was in Karthaus, PA and he lived in the small town of Snow Shoe, PA. After four or five years, the division closed and Florindo got a job with General Electric in Philadelphia where he met, Judy Irene Bates whom he married and lived happily together for 43 years.
He then went to AVCO System Corp. Research
Division in Lowell, MA doing varied Project Engineering and Marketing. During a slow down in the government defense contracting efforts, he worked at Bard Co., a
Division of USCI where he put the balloon catheter into production. He returned to AVCO, Wilmington Division as a Program Manager and retired from there at the end of 1987 after a total of 20 plus years.
Dale is survived by a daughter from his first marriage to Margaret Murphy, Kathleen Gregorin, and her
husband, Dale; three grandchildren, Mathew, Jill and Tricia; and a great-grandson, Kyle, all of Monroe Township, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean; a nephew, John Paul Dal Pan, all of Upper Montclair, NJ; a niece, Maria Dias, and her husband, Jason Dias, and two grandnieces, Carmela and Demetra, of Reno, NV.
Florindo was predeceased by his wife, Judith (Bates) Dal Pan in 2007.
DAL PAN A calling hour will be held on
Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Rd., Gilford. Funeral services will follow the calling hour at 1 P.M. at the Gilford Community Church. The Rev. Michael Graham, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
