George D. Carpenter

George D. Carpenter was Chelmsford businessman, WWII vet; 84 TYNGSBORO George D. Carpenter, 84, of Tyngsboro, and formerly of Chelmsford, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Pauline M. (Phillips) Carpenter to whom he was married to for 64 years. Born March 4, 1924 in Watertown, he was a son of Roy B. and Alice (Dane) Carpenter. George was a proud Veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Prior to his retirement in 1989, George owned and operated George D. Carpenter Plumbing & Heating, which served Chelmsford and its surrounding communities for many years. He was a member of the Immanuel Church in Chelmsford, where he enjoyed singing in the choir, and socializing with his many friends. Mr. Carpenter was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Besides his wife, George is survived by two sons, George D. Carpenter Jr. and his wife, Darlene of CO, Paul D. Carpenter and his wife, Krystyna of Tyngsboro; and two daughters, Joann M. Wicks and her husband, Walter of CT, and Darlene Beard and her husband, Gary of MD; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Cheryl A. (Carpenter) Green who died in 2007, and brother of the late Roy, Mabel, and Ernest. CARPENTER George D. Carpenter.
