Dorothy Kelley Obituary

Dorothy Kelley Littleton, retired teacher, avid gardener; 95 LITTLETON Dorothy (Carr) Kelley, 95, of Tahattawan Road, Littleton, died on August 1, 2008, at Rivercourt Residences in Groton. She was born in Fitchburg on January 19, 1913, daughter of the late John and Maude (Sawin) Carr. She grew up in the Gardner, Winchendon, and Keene, NH area, and was a graduate of Gardner High School. She then attended Fitchburg State Teachers College where she received a Teaching Degree. Dorothy taught in Winchendon and Gardner and taught most of her career in Special Education in the Winthrop School System. She was a Master Gardener, worked at the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and was a member of Littleton Garden Club. Mrs. Kelley is survived by three sons, John E. Kelley of Bristol, RI, Frederick W. Kelley III, of Nashua, NH, and Daniel Kelley of Mansfield MA; six grandchildren, Matthew Kelley, Christopher Kelley, and Julie Kelley of Rhode Island, Heather Hopson of Conyers, GA, Jennifer Kelley of Chicago, and Susan Stone of Wilmington, MA; and seven great-grandchildren.. KELLEY Visiting Hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton, on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation will follow. A private burial of her ashes will be held at Westlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
