Malcolm Kydd Obituary

Malcolm R. Kydd lived in Chelmsford for five decades; 72 GILFORD, NH Malcolm R. Kydd, 72, a resident of Gilford, NH, and a former 50 year Chelmsford resident, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, after a long battle with Emphysema. He was the husband of Marlene R. (O'Sullivan) Kydd who survives him, and to whom he was married to for 49 years. He was born in Lowell, on July 16, 1936, a son of the late David and Florence (McBride) Kydd. He worked for Kydd's Dairy and Ice Cream Stands in Chelmsford and Wakefield, a family business, with his Dad & Uncle for over 20 years. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Mal worked for Purolator Currier of Boston. After his retirement, Mal and his wife moved to NH, where he continued to work in security at the Steele Hill Resorts in Sanbornton, NH. He was a past member of the Chelmsford and Winthrop Elks, and the Winthrop Yacht Club. In addition to his wife, Malcolm is survived by two daughters, Christine Kydd Petrullo of Chelmsford, and Lisa Lefebvre and her husband, Dennis of Pepperell; two sisters-in-law, Joan Desilva and her husband, Douglas of Hampton, NH, and Anne O'Bryant and her husband, William of Merrimack, NH; three grandchildren, Brandon and Briana Petrullo of Chelmsford, and Nathan Lefebvre of Pepperell; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, who were also good friends. Mal was also the brother of the late David Kydd Jr. KYDD Malcolm R. Kydd, 72. Visiting hours at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Funeral Home. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. Marlene and family- I am sorry for the passing of Malcome. I would have been there for the wake however I was up in Maine. Mary was there for me and with the others in our family it was fine. Having just gone thru it with my father it was even more emotional for me. Once again I am sorry for your loss. Dave
