My friendship with Ed began 1942 at B.U. We were reunited in 1946 after both of us served in WW II. He was a great storyteller and his recollections of service in Italy were priceless.
He enjoyed listening to jokes and could laugh louder and longer than anyone in the fraternity house. He was very caring and thoughtful. When anyone in the House became ill he was quickly on the phone to his brother, Dr. George. He enjoyed jokes at his own expense, especially about his backhand. I was blessed to know him.

I have many fond memories of Mr. White and his late wife, Sylvia.

From my first days as one of his customers in 1983, and for over a decade thereafter, I developed a deep respect and affection for Ed.

In later years I would occasionally see him in Andover and it was always heartwarming to chat and reminisce.

They do not make them like that any more!

My sincere condolences to Glenn, Alan, Sam and the family.
