Monica E. Fremeau August 16, 1924 August 29, 2008 MISHAWAKA, IN Monica Ellen Fremeau, 84, passed away Friday at 3:55 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Monica Ellen Kelly was born in Lowell, MA to Thomas Joseph Kelly and Anne Elizabeth Kavanagh. She graduated from Lowell Commercial College and went on to marry John Wilfred Fremeau on May 1, 1948 in Graniteville, MA. She was employed for 50 years as an organist for several churches, including: St Catherine's Church in Westford, St. Margaret's in Lowell, and St. Bernard Church in Anna Maria Island, FL. It was said that she could make an organ "talk." She also was a secretary at John J. Hurley CPA. She was a member of the American Order of Hibernian Ladies in Bradenton, FL, the Legion of Mary, and Ladies of Sodality of St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford, MA, St. Pius X in Granger, IN, andshe was a Lady of Knights of Columbus. Mrs. Fremeau is survived by her husband of 60 years, John W. Fremeau of Mishawaka, IN; her son, Jack (Joyce) Fremeau of Jackson, Michigan; and daughters, Rosemary (Norman) Mathews of Goffstown, NH, and Joan (George A. Jr.) Spohrer of South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Scott (Lidija) Fremeau of Jackson, MI, Brian (Molly) Fremeau of South Bend, Joseph Fremeau of Vienna, VA, Michael Fremeau of Portland, OR, Ethan Foss of Arlington, VA, Rebecca Spohrer of New York, NY, Kelly Spohrer of Chicago, IL, Katie Spohrer and George A. Spohrer, III; and great-grandchildren, Colin and Owen Fremeau of Jackson, MI, and Audrey Fremeau of South Bend; her sisters, Marea Gower of Springfield, PA, Joan (Edwin) Nixon of Lima, Ohio, Anne (H. Jeffrey) Fencer of Windham, NH; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. FREMEAU A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Fir & SR 23, Granger with visitation an hour prior. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in East Chelmsford, MA with committal services in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in her memory to St. Pius X Education Center, 52553 Fir Rd., Granger, IN 46530. So sorry to hear about Monica's passing. I wish I had been more in touch with my fathers side of the family. Ted Fremeau spoke about Monica frequently. I am sure they are together now in heaven.
