John H. Myers, Jr.
of Nashua, 20 year Army veteran; 67
NASHUA, NH John H. Myers, Jr., 67, of Nashua, NH, and formerly of Davenport, FL, died at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, on
Tuesday, September 16, 2008.
He had resided in Nashua and
Merrimack for 26 years, moved to Florida several years ago, and moved back to Nashua in February 2008.
He was born in Jersey Shore,
Pennsylvania on November 24, 1940, a son of the late John H. Myers, Sr. and Rose Ella (Edwards) Myers. Mr. Myers was educated in Jersey Shore, PA.
Mr. Myers was the husband of Shirley (Brown) Myers, whom he married on July 6, 1962. They shared 46 years of marriage.
In his younger years, he was an artist. He loved the military and his country, and was a member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars in Peabody, MA. He enjoyed black and white movies, modeling, hunting and guns and as such was a pistol marksman.
He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Army, having retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served as an Army Recruiter following his retirement. As well after retirement, he was a truck driver, worked for Ingersoll-Rand as a master welder, and was a District Manager for the Nashua Telegraph. He also worked for Anheuser-Busch and in the construction industry.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, survivors include, two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Whitney and her husband, James Sr. of Nashua, and Theresa Myers of Laconia: two sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph A. Myers and his wife, Suzanne of Merrimack, NH and John H. Myers III and his wife, Jennifer of Dracut, MA; six grandchildren, James, Cody, Tiffany, Terrance,
Isabella, and Aliyah; five sisters, Dorothy, Joanne, Jean, Vickie and Rose; two brothers, Dannybill and David; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
MYERS Visiting Hours will be held Thursday evening (TODAY) from 6 8 PM at the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua, NH. A Graveside Funeral Service and Interment will be held on Friday morning at 11 o'clock AM at the NH Veteran's
Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Friends are invited to
