Doris M. Pratt

Doris M. Pratt 50 year resident of Chelmsford; 82 Chelmsford Doris M. (Wood) Pratt, 82, a 50 year resident of Chelmsford and formerly of Malden and Marblehead, died on Sunday, September 28, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul L. Pratt to whom she was married to for 50 years. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Malden, a daughter of the late William S. and Isabelle K. (Wheeler) Wood. Mrs. Pratt Graduated from Marblehead High School with the class of 1944. Prior to her retirement she worked for Sylvania Electric in Salem as a payroll clerk. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Chelmsford. She was a member of the Chelmsford Senior Citizens Center, Merry Widows, and the "Red Zingers" group of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed line dancing. Mrs. Pratt and her late husband Paul were very active in the Square Dance movement in earlier years. They performed as a caller and associate throughout Northeastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire for many years. The Town Traveler's Square Dance Club was founded by the Pratt's. She is survived by a sister, Isabel Jean Haggard of Merritt Island, FL, brother in-law, Richard Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves an aunt, Jeanie Falsani of Venice, FL and an uncle Judd Wheeler of Brookline, NH. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Patricia G. Pratt, two sisters, Evelyn Thomas formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Gloria (Wood) Shearer Garman formerly of Harrisburg, PA and a brother, William Wood formerly of Manchester by the Sea, MA. PRATT Doris M. (Wood) Pratt, 82, of Chelmsford and formerly of Malden and Marblehead, died on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008. Visiting hours will be held on Friday morning from 10 to 11am at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 o'clock at the funeral home. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
