Doris Dery Obituary

Doris M. Dery of Lowell, was active at Ste. Jeanne d'Arc; 90 LOWELL Doris M. (Auger) Dery, age 90, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at a local healthcare facility in Lowell, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Dery who died in 1981. She was born in St. Marcel, Quebec on April 23, 1918, the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Delima (Berard) Auger. Doris lived in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, until she moved to Pawtucketville section of Lowell with her family in 1947. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Parish in S. Lowell, and the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish where she was very active in many parish activities. Doris served as a Eucharistic minister and lector with the parish for many years. She was also active with the parish bingo, a longtime member of Le Cercle Jeanne Mance, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, La Chorale Orion and was also a volunteer with the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Prior to her retirement, Doris was employed as a housekeeper at Heritage Manor in Lowell for three years. She also worked at Merrimack Magnetics for three years. Doris is survived by two daughters, Danielle Gagnon and Suzanne Dery, both of Lowell; three sons, Serge Dery and his wife, Jeannine (Owen) of Toledo, OH, Yvan Dery and his wife, Constance (Ducharme) of Tewksbury, and Marcel Dery and his companion, Linda Shaw of Westford; 10 grandchildren, David Gagnon of Wilmington, Lisa Kelley and Karen Labonte, both of Lowell, Paulette Deschenes of Londonderry, Philip Dery of Indiana, Peter, Sarah Ruth, Timothy and Daniel Dery, all of Ohio, and Nicole Dery of Melrose; 14 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew and Shawn Kelley, Ashley, Michael, Tyler, Emily and Jakob Labonte, Andrew, John, Lauren and Hannah Deschenes, Gavin and Grant Dery; one sister-in-law, Theresa Charbonneau of Florida; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Marie Rose Blain, Emelia Brodeur, Aldea Lord, Cecile Auger, Viateur, Raoul, Lionel Auger, and the mother-in-law of the late Antonio Gagnon. DERY Doris M. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Friday, Oct. 3rd from 4 to 8 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish (Ste. I'm deeply saddened by the death of Doris .We at Willow Manor (2 nd floor)got to know her as a very prayerful lady.She always brought a smile to our faces.Receive our sympathies and remember that she is now in safe place in heaven.

Dear Danielle and family: I was saddened to hear that your mother had passed on. How lucky you were to have had her for so many years. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I recall that your mom used to bring communion to my mom and my Aunt Therese Michel and they both enjoyed her visits. She was a nice lady.
