Richard Robbins Obituary

Richard Wells Robbins Sr. of Billerica, retired member I.U.O.E Local 4; 71 BILLERICA Richard Wells Robbins Sr., age 71, beloved husband of 481/2 years of Helen J. (Thatcher) Robbins, died Thursday, Sept. 25, peacefully at their home, after a long illness. He was born in Waltham, April 16, 1937, son of the late Roland Wells and Geraldine (Prior) Robbins of Lincoln, MA. Mr. Robbins was a graduate of Concord High School in Concord, MA and lived in Lincoln for 27 years before moving to Billerica 44 years ago. He became a member of the (IUOE4) International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4 in 1969 and retired in 2001, and was a loyal fan of the Red Sox and an avid fan of John Wayne. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard W. Robbins Jr. and his wife, Joyce; Scott C. Robbins and his wife, Patricia, all from Billerica; Timothy W. Robbins and his wife, Susan of Gilmanton, NH; one grandson, Ian G. of Gilmanton, NH; 2 sisters, Jean R. Brown of Rockport, MA, and Bonita M. Robbins of Rutland, VT; also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. ROBBINS, RICHARD WELLS SR. Of Billerica, formerly of Lincoln, beloved husband of Helen J. (Thatcher) Robbins. A Celebration of his life will be held, Tuesday, October 7th at the Billerica Lodge of Elks, Webb Brook Rd., Billerica from 4 8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Arrangements under the care of the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, Billerica.
