William Prescott Obituary

William Benjamin Prescott of Leeward, MO, formerly of Westford; 90 Leeward, MO William Benjamin Prescott, 90, of Leeward, MO, formerly of Westford, died October 2nd, 2008 at Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Born in Westford, June 8, 1918, he was a son of the late Benjamin A. Prescott and Freda (Stiles) Prescott and the widower of Barbara S. Prescott. He lived in N.J. for 45 years and was a longtime member of St, Paul's Episcopal Church in Bound Brook, N.J. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II at the Walter Reed Medical Center and in England. He continued his military career in the Army Reserves, earning the rank of Captain. Prior to his retirement, he was the Director of Chemical Research at American Cyanamid and was a sixty year member of the American Chemical Society. He is survived by a daughter, Jane Thompson and her husband Daniel Thompson, Jr., a grandson, Benjamin P. Thompson, all of Overland Park, KS., a granddaughter, Rebecca Sayers, PhD and her husband Jason Sayers of Durham, N.C. He was also father of the late John W, Prescott. PRESCOTT Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery, 119 Main St., Westford at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial contributions in his name to the Teacher Development Fund, American Chemical Society, 1155 16th St., N.W.
