Ruby Marie Wieck
of Lowell, retired Illinois schoolteacher; 91
LOWELL Ruby Marie (Ritt) Wieck, 91, of Lowell, died Monday morning, October 6, 2008, at Wingate at Lowell. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Wieck.
Born in Algonquin, Illinois, Nov. 23, 1916, the daughter of the late William L. and the late Emma (Dunker) Ritt. She received her education in the Crystal Lake, Illinois School System and graduated from Crystal Lake High School in the Class of 1934. She then went on to receive her Teaching
Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb,
Illinois.
Before retiring, Ruby was a
Grammar School Teacher in the Nora, Illinois School System. She was also a former Director of the Head Start Program in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin.
Among her many interests, she especially enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling with her children and grandchildren.
From life-long friends in Freeport, Illinois to co-workers at Calvert's, housemates at Roger's Hall, and to her large and loving family, Ruby and her joy for life will always be remembered. So too will be her gentle voice, ever present smile and the goodness of her heart.
Ruby will be sadly missed by her loving family. She is survived by a daughter, Lynne W. Faust and former son-in-law, Fred Faust of Lowell; two sons, Douglas R. Wieck and his wife, Melinda of Heflin, Alabama, and Randall L. Wieck of Freeport, Illinois; six grandchildren, Stewart Wieck, Stephan Wieck, Ben Faust, Lauren Faust, Amanda Faust, and Tatiana Faust; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also sister of the late Wells Ritt, the late Wanda Johnson and the late Lee Ritt.
