Kary Lewis Obituary

Kary F. Lewis Ayer tannery co. retiree, Army vet; 78 AYER Kary F. Lewis, 78, of Ayer, died suddenly, Saturday, October 11th, at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury. Mr. Lewis was born in White Oaks, North Carolina, Feb. 3, 1930. He has resided in Ayer for over 53 years. Mr. Lewis attended the Federated Church in Ayer. Mr. Lewis served his country in the US Army. Mr. Lewis was employed at the Hartnett Tannery in Ayer, as a leather processor. He previously was employed at the Warren Manufacturing Company in Littleton which then became Solar Basic Manufacturing. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Master Masons. He was an avid chef, and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy (Williams) Lewis; one stepson, Robert H. Williams and his wife, Brenda of Westford; two grandsons, Robert Williams Jr. and Justin Williams; one brother, Felts Lewis of Raleigh, NC; and one sister, Ruby Evans of Fairfield, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lewis was the brother of the late William Lewis, George Lewis, Thomas Lewis, and Marie Montakue. LEWIS A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18th at the Federated Church, 21 Washington St., Ayer. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Ayer. There are no calling hours. The T. J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., Ayer are assisting the family with arrangements. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information.
