Dorothy Riley Obituary

Dorothy Ann Riley of Chelmsford, active at Carlisle church; 77 CHELMSFORD Dorothy Ann (Macaione) Riley, of Chelmsford, died Thursday, October 16, 208, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of William W. Riley. Born in Lawrence, on November 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Gentile) Macaione. She attended Lawrence public schools and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1950. For many years, Mrs. Riley worked in the Gift Wrap Departments of Bon Marche and Jordan Marsh, both in Lowell. A longtime resident of Chelmsford, Mrs. Riley was a communicant of St. Irene's Church in Carlisle, and was a member of the St. Irene's Women's Club. She was a volunteer at the YMCA where she taught water aerobics, and was past president of the South Chelmsford Village Improvement Association. In addition to her husband, William, survivors include, 1 daughter, Brenda Jean Riley of Boise, Idaho; 3 sons, William W. Riley, Jr. and his wife, Corinne A. Walsh, of China and Canada, Stephen M. Riley and his wife, Edith (Conwell) of Haverhill, and Michael J. Riley and his wife, Robin (Neely) of Chelmsford; 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Riley and Katherine Marie Riley, both of Canada; 5 grandsons, Brian W. Riley of Vancouver, British Columbia, Matthew M. Riley of Canada, Joseph M. Riley, Andrew P. Riley and Jeffrey S. Riley, all of Haverhill; many nieces and nephews, including, Johanna Medieros of Norton; and her wonderful caretakers, Eva, Pam, Mary, Ginny, Marilynn, Mary Ellen and Eileen. RILEY Dorothy Ann (Macaione), of Chelmsford, October 16. Private services will be held at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Irene's Church, 181 East St., Carlisle, MA 01741. Arrangements are under the care of the Dee Funeral Home of Concord. Bill, Our deepest condolences to you and your family on the death of your wife, Dorothy. We heard the announcement Sat. night at St. Irene's 5 PM mass. We know how devoted you were to her and her passing must be esp difficult after a lifetime of sharing and love. We are remembering Dorothy in our prayers and keeping you in our special thoughts and prayers.
