As the years move on, I come to fully understaned more, how growing up on Groton was special. I can honestly say that I was actually born in Groton, at an old country hospital, where my dad worked. Part of growing up on Groton was being downtown and aside from sitting at Dixon's counter with a glass of milk and butter slathered toast, was Bruce pharmacy, and Moison's hardware. I could never understand why they called it Moison's because to me it was Sargent's. Two of the brightest memories growing up I have are of MaryAnn and Harold Sargent, Harold ran the store and MaryAnn did the books, I think... Harold always had a smile on his face, he was a piece of Groton bedrock, someone you knew, even as a kid was a solid citizen, above board, decent, warm. As well, Harold was welcomed me into his home, as a child and later as an adult when my dad passed on. Harold passed many of these qualities on to Pam, to Rick, Donna and Dana. Harold will be missed by his family and many friends and members of the community he touched throughout his long life.
To the family, please accept my wishes and sympathies.
