Liberty Balamotis

Liberty Balamotis of Dracut, Holy Trinity member, Lowell DRACUT Liberty (Pappanickolas) Balamotis, a resident of Dracut for many years, died Tuesday afternoon at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles N. Balamotis, who died in June 1984. Born in Lowell, the daughter of the late Demetrius and the late Stamatoula (Antonakos) Pappanickolas. She was raised in the Acre Section of Lowell, attended the Hellenic American School and the Bartlett Junior High School. Mrs. Balamotis was a lifelong communicant of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Before retiring, she was a Dress-maker and Seamstress at several of the Lowell mills including Suffolk Knitting, Jones of New York, White Stag Fashions, and RLK Dresses. During World War II, she was an Inspector at Remington Arms in South Lowell. She was a member of the Poor Clare Guild and the Medical Missionary Association in Somerville. Liberty was a caring and compassionate person. When she could help, she always did and was very generous and remained anonymous. She loved flowers and caring for her window boxes as well as caring for small animals. Liberty will be missed by those who really knew her. She was the sister of the late George and Ahillis Pappanickolas. BALAMOTIS In Lowell, Oct. 21, 2008 at Saints Medical, Liberty Balamotis of Dracut. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service at the HOLY TRINITY GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial with her husband in the Westlawn Cemetery.
