Catherine Foristall Obituary

Catherine H. Foristall of North Andover, Lowell native; 90 NORTH ANDOVER Catherine H. (Fahey) Foristall, 90, of North Andover, died October 24, 2008, at The Meadows. Born in Lowell, MA, Mrs. Foristall attended St. Peter's School and graduated in 1935 from Lowell High School, where she was selected as a member of the National Honor Society. She entered civil service employment in 1940 and served in the Massachusetts State House in Boston. With the advent of World War II, Mrs. Foristall joined the federal civil service and in June 1941 she was sent to Fort Devens, where she served as Civilian Personnel Officer of the Lovell General Hospital. In early 1946, Mrs. Foristall transferred to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA where she worked as a Personnel Specialist until September of 1947 when she married John E. Foristall, and left federal service to pursue a new career as homemaker and mother. Mrs. Foristall was predeceased by her husband, John E. and a son, Michael J.; and is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Dollerschell and her husband, John of Minnesota; a son, Edward Foristall and his wife, Patricia of Falmouth, MA; grandchildren, Kendyl Foristall-Drass and her husband, Jason, John Foristall and his wife, Kristin, and Leigh Ann Foristall; as well as a great-grandson, John "Ike" Drass. FORISTALL A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in North Tewksbury. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
