Gertrude McCarthy Obituary

Gertrude F. McCarthy longtime resident of Dracut; 82 Dracut Gertrude F. (Murphy) McCarthy, 82, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Tuesday evening at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Charles McCarthy. Born in Lowell, November 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Michael and the late Mary (Scanlon) Murphy, she attended St. Patrick Grammar School in Lowell and was a graduate of St. Patrick Girl's High School. Mrs. McCarthy is survived by a son Jerry M. McCarthy and his wife Tina of Dracut; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law Doris Murphy of Dracut. She was also sister of the late Elinor M. Murphy, the late Dorothy M. Murphy, the late Raymond M. Murphy, the late Donald E. Murphy and the late Barbara A. Harvey. McCARTHY In Lowell, October 27, 2008, at D'Youville Senior Care, Gertrude F. (Murphy) McCarthy, 82, of Dracut, wife the late Charles McCarthy. Friends may call at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 PAWTUCKET ST. at Fletcher from 9 to 10 A.M. on Thursday morning. Her funeral will immediately follow at ST. MARGUERITE D'YOUVILLE CHURCH in Dracut at 10:30 o'clock. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery in North Tewksbury. E-condolence/directions at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com.
