Phillip Descoteaux Obituary

Phillip E. Descoteaux, Jr. of Lowell, Raytheon retiree, WWII vet; 84 LOWELL Phillip E. Descoteaux, Jr., 84 years old, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Tuesday evening, October 28th, at Saints Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Catherine (MacIntosh) Descoteaux, who died in December of 2003. He was born in Saco, Maine, on September 23, 1924, a son of the late Phillip E. and Irene (Priest) Descoteaux, and was a graduate of Thornton Academy, in Saco, Maine. Mr. Descoteaux served in the United States Navy during World War II. Upon his discharge, he was employed as a Tool Grinder by the Raytheon Corporation for over 35 years until his retirement. Surviving him are a daughter, Susan J. Piekos of Lowell; a son, Phillip E. Descoteaux, III, of Litchfield, NH; six grandchildren, Amy Piekos of Lowell, Sarah Murphy of San Diego, CA, Rebecca Piekos of Encinitas, CA, Joshua Piekos of Lowell, Katie Descoteaux of Portsmouth, RI, and Phillip E. Descoteaux, IV of Nashua, NH; a sister, Muriel Twomey of Gladwyn, PA; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jacqueline Northway and Jean Thompson. DESCOTEAUX Private services were held at the convenience of the family.

Dear Susan and Phillip, we were saddened to hear of your father's death. He was one of the first people we got to know 41 years ago. He was always ready to help, if you need him. He always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed in the neighborhood.
