Panagiota Anastasopoulos Obituary

Panagiota 'Penny' Anastasopoulos lived in Dracut and Lowell for many years; 86 CHELMSFORD Mrs. Panagiota "Penny" (Arvanites) Anastasopoulos, age 86, passed away Wednesday, November 5th, surrounded by her family at the Palm Manor Nursing Home. She was born February 22, 1922, in Lowell, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Bessie (Stamatopoulos) Arvanites. She was the wife of the late Demetrios Anastasopoulos who died in 1988. Mrs. Anastasopoulos was a longtime resident of Dracut and Lowell, and had also resided in Plum Island from 1976 - 1989. Penny enjoyed her role as homemaker loving to cook, and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Richard Kaminski, of Lowell; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Laurie Anastasopoulos, of Lowell; one brother, John Arvanites of N. Reading; two sisters-in-law, Pat Arvanites, of Newburyport, and Ann Arvanites, of Lowell ; five grandchildren, Nicole Kaminski, John Kaminski, Tanya Kaminski, Jamie Anastasopoulos and Christopher Anastasopoulos; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Arthur "Duke" Arvanites, George Arvanites, Helen Plantamura, and Millie Aceto, sister-in-law to the late Mary Arvanites, and the aunt of the late Catherine Loiacono. ANASTASOPOULOS Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Saturday at 9am with a funeral services to be held the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
