Barbara Daniels Obituary

Barbara A. Daniels of Tewksbury, formerly of Haverhill TEWKSBURY Barbara A. (Hickey) Daniels, age 68, a Tewksbury resident for 32 years, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at home, with her family by her side, after a long illness. She was the wife of Ralph E. Daniels, with whom she celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on April 4th. Born in Haverhill, on January 24, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William T. Hickey and Catherine (Lawler) Hickey. Barbara was raised in Haverhill and attended St. James Grammar and High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 20 years as a sales representative by the former Merrimack Valley Advertiser of Tewksbury, and the Community Newspaper Company of Concord. Barbara resided in Haverhill and East Longmeadow until moving to Tewksbury in 1973. She was a communicant of Saint William's Parish of Tewksbury. According to her family, she was an avid and competitive bowler and golfer, and was involved in leagues in both these activities. In addition, she was an accomplished cook and liked nothing better than being surrounded by her children, and grandchildren at family gatherings. Summertime was especially enjoyable for her, because she could relish the company of dozens of people at their family cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida, Aruba, Ireland, and Canada. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Laurie D. Medrek and her husband, Timothy, twin grandsons, Jamie and Devin, and granddaughter, Emily, all of Pepperell, Kimberly D. Olney, and grandson, Ryan of Chelmsford, Sherry L. Livsey and her husband, John, and grandson, Andrew, and granddaughter, Hannah, all of Billerica, and Christine C. Daniels of Tewksbury; one sister, Carole E. O'Neil and her husband, George of Groveland. She also leaves three favorite nephews, Kevin, Brian and Sean O'Neil, their wives; and seven grandnephews. DANIELS Barbara A. (Hickey). Calling hours Wednesday, Nov. 19th, from 3-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Thursday, Nov. 20th, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury.
