Alice Catherine Hallenborg

Alice Catherine Hallenborg lived in Pepperell, and Billerica; 86 GILBERT, Arizona Alice Catherine Hallenborg, faithful catholic, age 86, died at the Gilbert Hospital in Gilbert, Arizona, on Sunday, November 16, 2008, due to congestive heart failure. She was the wife of the late Robert Phinney and of the late George Hallenborg. Alice the daughter of Paul and Edith Tintle (Shaw)was born September 15, 1922, in Boston, Massachusetts. Alice was raised in Billerica, Massachusetts with her five siblings; Edith, Paul, Barbara, Helen and Richard Tintle. Then later raised her own three children, Donna Sherman (Phinney), Robert Phinney, and Virginia Smola (Phinney)also inBillerica surrounded by her family throughout the neighborhood. After the loss of her first husband, she later remarried her devoted husband of28 years, George Hallenborg. In 1962, they moved to a beautiful home and property in Weare, New Hampshire where they spent over 2 decades before moving to Pepperell, Massachusetts in 1986. In the wake of her second husbands passing, Alice lived with her daughter, Donna in Pepperell. Most recently enjoying their new retirement home in Queen Creek, Arizona. Alice is survived by her three children; Donna Sherman, Ginny Smola and Robert Phinney; her 7 grandchildren, Patrick, Lisa, Earle, Timothy, Shannon, Robert and Kathleen; and her 8 great-grandchildren; Christopher, Joseph, Michael, Brendan, Zachary, Bridget,Ava and John. And many step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. Alice spent her first years of marriage raising her own children and caring for many foster children. After losing her first husband, Alice re-entered the workforce to support her family. Her career as a Secretary started at Raytheon and then moved on the Hosmer Machine shop. Later in her career she worked at the State House in Concord, New Hampshire, as a secretary, and later became the Head of the Real Estate Commission and retired after 20 years of service. Alice enjoyed working and did not stay retired for long, after moving to Pepperell she later worked in the Admitting Dept. at the Nashoba Hospital in Ayer, MA where she met many friends. Alice was a devoted Catholic along with her two surviving sisters, Barbara Nestor and Helen Morris andher predeceased siblings, Edith Powderly in 1999, Paul Tintle in 1987, and Richard Tintle in 1996.Alice's family of six siblings and their amazing spouses were all extremely close and always a source of strength and support for one another. Alice lived her life for the Catholic faith, those that new her well would say she was a Saint. After losing her husband the late George Hallenborg, Alice took her vows to become a Sister of The Mount Carmel Order. I would bet money that when she entered the pearly white gates they rolled the red carpet out for her. She is finally home!
