Louie Rana Obituary

Louie Rana Chelmsford, formerly of Cambridge; 82 Chelmsford Louie Rana, 82, of Chelmsford and formerly of Cambridge died Tuesday August 14, 2007. He was the husband of Josephine C. (Marcucci) Rana whom he was married to for 58 years. He was born on March 3, 1925 in Cambridge, MA the son of the late Donato Rana and Grace Rana. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Chelmsford. Louie served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement he had worked at Geartronics in Billerica as a machinist. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter; Marian Hildreth and her husband Tom of Wakefield, his grandchild, Andrew Davis, a brother Salvatore Rana of West Roxbury, 3 sisters; Angelina Rana and Josephine Rana both of Cambridge and Jenny Gentile of Brighton, sister in-laws; Gilda Solimeno, Helen Carbone and Mary Spagnoli. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Linda Davis and the brother Ann Raffa, the brother in-law of the late Benjamin Marcucci and Rose Lacortiglia. RANA Louis Rana, 82, of Chelmsford died Tuesday August 14, 2007. Calling hours will be held at Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St. Chelmsford from 8am-10:30am Saturday. Sir, I didn't know you, but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
