John Hartwell Obituary

John B. Hartwell of Littleton, decorated WWII veteran; 82 LITTLETON John B. Hartwell, 82, of Littleton, died at E. N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, on October 18, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Norwood, on Jan 5, 1925, son of the late Nathan and Ethel (Burns) Hartwell Sr. He grew up in Littleton, and was a graduate of Littleton High School. John worked at United Elastics in Littleton as a weaver before entering the U.S. Army during WWII. He served in the Battle of the Bulge, and received a Purple Heart. After the war, John returned to United Elastics for a number of years. He then went to work for Nashoba Package Store, as a sales clerk from 1969 to 1980. He also worked as a maintenance man for TDC, an electronics company in Littleton. John was a member of the First Church Unitarian in Littleton John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evarose (Moreau) Hartwell of Littleton; three sons, Peter H. Hartwell, and Vernon J. and his wife, Linda Hartwell, all of Littleton, and Randy E. and his wife, Paulette Hartwell of Winchendon; a brother, Haywood "Pete" and his wife, Frances Hartwell of Concord; eight grandchildren, Peter J. Hartwell, Christopher M. Hartwell, Stacy A. Hartwell, Nathan A. Hartwell, James A Hartwell, Michael P. Hartwell, Kaytlin A. Hartwell, and Tyler J. Hartwell. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren He was also the father of the late Alan E. Hartwell, and the brother of the late Nathan Hartwell and Anna Drabek HARTWELL John B., 82, Oct. 18. Visiting Hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St, Littleton on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p,m with a Funeral Service at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be private at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.
