Barbara McDonald Obituary

Barbara McDonald resident of Leominster; 81 LEOMINSTER Barbara McDonald, 81, of Leominster, passed away on November 8, 2007, at the Health Alliance/Leominster Hospital, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Mrs. McDonald was born on June 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Ruth A. and Judson Dodge of Isleboro, Maine. After graduating from Isleboro High School, she spent many years in Rockland, Maine. Mrs. McDonald married Armand J. Rust, and moved to Shirley, MA. After his passing, she married Kenneth C. McDonald and they enjoyed 20 wonderful years together. She worked for many years at the George Frost Company, in Shirley, MA, and the H.H. Scott Company, in Maynard, MA. After her retirement in 2004, she worked part time at Adesa Car Auction in Concord, MA. She was a member of the Shirley Golden Ages. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Ronald and Gail Rust of Shirley, Stuart and Christina Rust of Leominster; a stepson Kenneth and his wife, Tina McDonald of Shirley; two sisters, Hattie Carlton of Shirley, Mattie Barnes of Rockland, Maine. Her pride and joys, her grandchildren, Angela Drew, Tracy, Melissa, Shawn Rust, Patrick and Ernie Westover all of Shirley, Michael and Courtney Denning of Leominster, Adam Kapous of Braintree and Christopher Locke of Rockland, ME; her great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Madison, and Morgan Drew; Dawn, Matthew, and Jacob McDonald, all of Shirley and Anthony Rust of Leominster; her beloved friend and pet, her cat, Minnie Me. Also, several nieces, nephew, "adopted" grandchildren of the neighborhood, and extended family, and many wonderful friends and acquaintances over the years. She was predeceased by her husbands, her daughter, Linda Rust of Shirley, her sisters, Dorothy Dyer and Mildred Steele, three brothers, Herbert, Judson Jr. and Oren Dodge, all of Rockland, Maine, two stepchildren, James McDonald of Tampa FL, and Marjorie Locke of Rockland, Maine. McDONALD Calling hours are 6 8 P.M., Wednesday, November 14th at the T. J. Anderson & Sons Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd. (Rte. 2A) Ayer, MA. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. McDonald's name to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, City of Brookline, MA 02445-7226 Attn: Contribution Services.

Chrissy and Stu,

I was sooooooo very sorry to learn about the passing of Gram. If I had known I would have been there. She was a wonderful person, quite the spitfire!(I would have used the term "Hot ticket" but some one else beat me to it.) Hold on to all the wonderful memories and find comfort in them.

You have been gone for a few days and the hole in my heart keeps getting bigger and bigger. You are one of the people in my life that I will never forget!
