Antoinette Feeney Obituary

Antoinette Feeney lifelong resident of Lowell, communicant of St. Michael's; age 96 LOWELL Antoinette (Proteau) Feeney, 96, died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, surrounded by her family, at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond O. Feeney. Formerly the wife of the late Gerard Elie. Antoinette was born in Lowell, on June 24, 1911, the daughter of the late Joseph and Louisa (Champoux) Proteau. She was raised, educated and worked in Lowell. She worked at the Lowell Mills, the Lowell Shoe Manufacturing Company, as a shoe painter, and she also worked at Wang Laboratories. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. For 14 years, she was a foster grandparent at the Robinson School, until her retirement at age 85. For 10 years, Antoinette also continued to work with her daughter, Pauline making memorial rosaries. She was known as an avid Red Sox Fan, enjoyed music, talking politics, and visiting her sisters. She is survived her son and daughter-in-law, Roger Elie and his wife, Luz Alba; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Theresa Goyette and her husband, Edward of Lowell, Pauline Barbieri and her husband, Bernard of Tewksbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Loretta Morin of Dracut, Lillian Bellemare and her husband, Marcell of Dracut, Edward LaFortune of Dracut; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Proteau of Hudson, NH; nine grandchildren, Sharon Cash, Linda Szablak, Ed Goyette Jr., Joseph Barbieri, Debbie Doucette, Paula Stewart, Melissa and Elizabeth Barbieri, Cynthia and Timothy Elie; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sister of the late Lydia Barthel, Bernadette Fissette, Arthur Proteau, Lena Baillargeon, and Loraine Lafortune. FEENEY Of Lowell, Antoinette Feeney, 96, lifelong Lowell resident, died Nov. 22, at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond O. Feeney. Former wife of the late Gerard Elie. Her Funeral will be on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 9 am in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of Dewey and Main Sts., Tewksbury Center. Phone (800 or 978) 851-2950. Her Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10 am in St. Michael's Church, 6th St., Lowell, MA. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm in the funeral home.
