Francis Booth Obituary

Francis A. Booth Carlisle firefighter, police officer, WWII vet;91 CARLISLE Francis A. Booth, 91, a lifelong Carlisle resident, died peacefully at his Carlisle home, on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. He was the beloved husband of 63 years of Rita I. (Chamberlain) Booth. Born in Carlisle, on December 29, 1915, he was the son of the late Frank Booth and Madeline (Biggi) Booth. Mr. Booth served the Town of Carlisle as a volunteer firefighter, police officer, dog officer, and veterans agent. He worked at Hanscom Field as foreman of the Jet Propulsion Shop, and later at the Macone's Sporting Goods Store in Concord. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. A lifelong member of St. Irene's Church in Carlisle, he served for many years as a church usher. In addition to his wife, Rita, survivors include his children, David Booth and his wife, Priscilla of Chelmsford, Peg Booth of Fayston, VT, Francis Booth and his wife, Carol of Leominster, Joanne Booth of Westford, and Paul Booth and Mary Davidson of Carlisle; his grandchildren, Laura Catanzano and her husband, Salvatore of Tewksbury, Andrew Booth and his wife, Jennifer of Merrimack, NH, Lauren Booth of Leominster, Michael Booth of St. Johnsbury, VT, Gregory Booth of Leominster, Lucy Damon of Westford, and Daisy, Blake and Nicholas Davidson of Carlisle; his great-grandchildren, Victoria Rose and Salvatore Catanzano of Tewksbury, and Luccas and Cody Booth of Merrimack, NH. BOOTH Francis A., died peacefully at home, in Carlisle, Nov. 28.. Funeral Mass Saturday, December 1st at 10 a.m. in St. Irene's Church, 181 East St., Carlisle. Interment Green Cemetery, Carlisle. Please accept our deepest sympathy on the death of your beloved Francis. We did not know him, but his grandfather, James Botto, was a brother to my wife's great grandmother, Mary (Botto) DeMarchi. I have done research on the Botto family and have a photo of his great grandmother, Madelena (Cavagnaro)Botto if you are interested in receiving a copy.
